A private equity strategy that targets the equity and/or debt of companies experiencing stress, or otherwise healthy companies facing situations that make it challenging for them to access traditional capital markets. Example situations include, but are not limited to: 

• Companies with a complicated or misunderstood opportunity set;
• Companies operating in a niche industry or one experiencing disruption; and
• Companies with subscale operations.
